Alvin is a small city within the State of Texas, with a population of 21.143 according to the 2010 census. Alvin was settled in the middle of the 19th century, first with an agricultural purpose of raising bulls. Today, the city's main industry is still agriculture, but its fame is due tot the well known baseball player Nolan Ryan, who was added to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Despite the fact that Alvin is quite small, it has still got a lot of wonderful attraction to offer to its tourists. It is a relaxing and peaceful place to spend a weekend or a short holiday with the family or friends. The accommodation here is affordable and it ranges from comfortable motels, elegant hotels and outdoor camping facilities. There are also many venues where you can spend your time, such as restaurants, pubs, coffee shops or takeaways.
Bayou Wildlife Park is the place where you can experience the African Safari. You and your family can benefit from an adventure-filled tram ride that will take you throughout the parks, where there are more than 80 species of animals. Children will love it, since they will have the possibility of seeing so many animals from Africa, Asia, Australia, North and South America. Children can also ride and pet a pony and other small animals from the petting zoo.
Alvin Bowling Alley is a great place where you can have lots of fun filled activities with your family and friends. The venue has all the facilities you need: the counter where you can rent the special shoes, coffee shops and specially designed playgrounds for the children. You will not get bored here.
Haak Vineyard and Winery is a charming wine distillery just outside Alvin. It is worth the drive till here. You have the possibility of tasting several types of wine, surrounded by beautiful landscapes. The employees are kind enough to take the tourists on a tour to see how wine is made in Texas.
