Arecibo is a municipality in the northern Midwest coast of Puerto Rico, United States. Located by the Atlantic Ocean, Arecibo is a wonderful place for a trip with your family as you will have many nice attractions to see and so many ways of spending a great time there. Arecibo it is also known as El Diamante Del Norte (The Diamond of the North) or La Ribera del Arecibo (The shore of Arecibo). Here, visitors will discover new things and many incredible landmarks that will amaze them. Arecibo is one of the oldest places from Puerto Rico, so you will have a lot of things to visit.
The Cathedral of Saint Phillip Apostle was built in the 17the century, but in 1787 was destroyed by an earthquake and completed in 1846, so it is a very old building with a long history behind. It has a unique and antique structure that will catch your eye as soon as you will arrive there. It is a worth seeing tourist attraction, so do not miss it!
The City Hall is also housed in an old house built in 1866 and was used as a jail. Later, it was destroyed by an earthquake, but was rebuilt and were added a clock and a tower. It has a special architecture that reflects the local style, but it has a middle size. You will be impressed by this very different building, so when you visit Arecibo , do not forget about it!
Los Morillos Beach is located nearby Arecibo. You will encounter swimming and other entertainment facilities. The beach is very clean, nice, with nice blue waters that will catch you eye. You can walk and admire the beautiful landscape!
