Bethlehem is a lovely city located in the state of Pennsylvania, more exactly in Lehigh County and Northampton County. Together with Allentown and Easton, Bethlehem forms the Lehigh Valley, which is the third largest metropolitan area in Pennsylvania. Records of the area date back to 1741, but Bethlehem was incorporated only in 1845.
Since then, Bethlehem developed a lot, and in 2000 it reached a population of nearly 75.000, according to the census. A particularly interesting fact about Bethlehem is that in 2006, Money magazine ranked it as the 88th best place to live. Bethlehem has three main sections: North Bethlehem, South Bethlehem and West Bethlehem. Even though these areas blossomed in different periods, the city is without a doubt a wonderful place to live in, and to visit as well.
Westgate Mall is a wonderful shopping facility, which will please the heart of every shopping enthusiast. The mall opened in 1973, and since then it has been serving both local residents and tourists, which can find here numerous stores, shops, dining options and other useful facilities.
Zoellner Arts Center can be found on the campus of Lehigh University. The arts center opened in 1997, and it includes an auditorium (Baker Hall), two theatres (Diamond Theatre and Black Box Theatre), an art gallery, and numerous other facilities, like rehearsal rooms, classrooms, recording studios, a music library and three large lobbies.
The Bethlehem Area Public Library is not only a library, but also a great recreational facility, which has become very popular due to the numerous entertainment options that it offers.
Musikfest is a very popular festival, which is held in Bethlehem every year in August. More than 1 million people gather here on every edition of the festival, because they get the chance to spend 10 awesome days, enjoying good music and great food.
Parks. Bethlehem is renown for the large number of parks found here: 39. Among the greatest ones, we can recall Buchannan Park, Johnston Park, Rockland Park, Sand Island, Elmwood Park, Rose Garden, Sell Field, Triangle Park, West Side Park and Yosko Park.
