USCGC Acacia was the second to the last of a fleet of 39 buoy tenders completed during World War II. The Acacia is a multi purpose vessel, with equipment and capability for ice breaking, search and rescue, fire fighting and logistics. In 2007, the Acacia sailed to Burns Harbor and tourists can still see today the ship. Unfortunately, it is not open to the public, but you can still see it from afar.
