3. The Longfellow House National Historic Site: Built in 1759, this was the home of the celebrated poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and also served as Gen. George Washington's headquarters in 1775-76. Longfellow's wife, Fanny, was a forward-thinking woman who engaged in literary pursuits and artwork. Longfellow's children included Charley, an adventurous traveler; and Alice, an important figure in the advancement of women's education and an early proponent of historic preservation.

4. Head of the Charles Regatta: Each October in a two-day regatta, racers from all over the world compete on a three-mile along the Charles River, between Boston and Cambridge. In the world's largest regatta, more than 8,000 athletes row approximately 1,600 boats before 250,000 spectators throughout Regatta weekend The competitive field includes individual and team competitors from colleges, high schools, and clubs from nearly all U.S. states and various countries.

5. John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum: In three theaters, period settings, and 25 dramatic multimedia exhibits, visitors experience the beloved president's life, legacy, and leadership. Event of the 1960s are presented through Kennedy's eyes and narrated in his voice. The facility is in a striking I.M Pei building on Boston's waterfront in a 9.5-acre park. May to October, Kennedy's 26-foot sailboat Victura is on display.
