Carbondale is located in the Jackson County of Illinois. As the largest city in the Southern Illinois area, Carbondale has a population of approximatively 26,000 inhabitants. Carbondale was established in 1852 and was incorporated four years later. The first settlement was due to the purchase of land in between to railroads that were supposed to unite here.
