Coos Bay is a lovely city in the state of Oregon, located more exactly in Coos County. The history of Coos Bay goes back approximately 400 years ago, but Coos Bay was not settled until 1853. Then, Coos Bay became incorporated in 1874, and developed a lot ever since. Now, there are nearly 16.000 people living in Coos Bay, according to the 2010 census, making it the largest city on the Oregon Coast.

The Oregon Dunes was established in 1972, and it has attracted many tourists throughout the years. People come here to admire the beautiful sights and the unique features, but also to enjoy the many recreational opportunities. Coos Bay Jetty, the body of water, is an inlet shaped like an S, which gives the city of Coos Bay a distinctive touch. This amazing estuary is located at the place where the Coos River enters the Pacific Ocean. The name of the city comes from the name of Coos Bay Jetty. The construction started in 1890 and it then became an important port for Oregon.
The Southern Oregon Coast Range is a wonderful recreational area, located only a stone throw away from Coos Bay.
