Grand Rapids is a charming city located in the state of Minnesota, more exactly in Itasca County, being at the same time the county seat. The name of Grand Rapids comes from the long local rapids in the Mississippi River. The foundation of Grand Rapids took place somewhere around 1872, but the city did not become incorporated until 1891. Then, the economy began to rise, which led to the development of Grand Rapids. Now, there are 10.869 people living in Grand Rapids, according to the 2010 census, making it one of the most populous cities in the state. Grand Rapids is also a great tourist attraction, as it offers numerous recreational and cultural activities to all of its visitors. Also, the city is filled with festivals all year round.

The Forest History Center is a great educational institution, where you will find everything you need to know about the history, culture and traditions of the place. You may be surprised with the people here, as they are dressed in traditional costumes, which date more than 100 years back. Their purpose is to take you back in time, to relive history and see how did people live when Grand Rapids was founded.
The Children's Discovery Museum is the place dedicated for children who want to learn interesting things. There are many exhibits here, including a lovely doll collection, which girls will particularly love.
