Named for American Major General Nathanael Greene, the city of Greensboro is steeped in history from the days of the American Revolution. While the city has moved away from its original center, it still honors its proud American history.
1. Tour the Natural Science Center of Greensboro- This science center includes a zoo housing a variety of animals such as wallabies, monkeys and tigers as well as a petting area where visitors can interact with the animals. Other exhibits include a planetarium, models of dinosaurs and a natural gem and mineral display.
2. Make a splash at Wet N' Wild Emerald Pointe- Whether you want to relax in the sun and watch the thrill seekers, ride a tube down man-made rapids, relax in the lazy river or enjoy the excitement of a water slide, this water park is great for all members of the family.
3. Relive history at the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park-Visitors to this park will learn the significance of the Revolutionary War Battle of Guilford Courthouse. Exhibits include artifacts and weapons from the battle as well as tours of the battlefield.
4.Visit the Bog Garden- Tour the Bog Garden by walking on the elevated wooden walkways that allow guests to view the plants and animals that make their homes in the Carolina bog areas.
5. Watch a game at First Horizon Park-Take in a minor league baseball game at the home stadium of the Greensboro Grasshoppers.
