Part of Allegheny County, Jefferson Hills has a population of about 10.600 residents on an area of 16.6 square miles (43 square kilometers). The area was initially a township, incorporated in 1828. In fact, the name Jefferson Hills was given to this city in the honor of the third President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson. Currently, Jefferson Hills represents one of the most popular tourist destinations in the whole county, due to the many sights of interest that can be visited here by tourists from all around the world.
