Los Lunas is a village in New Mexico, in the United States. As of the 2010 Los Lunas had a population of 24.877 inside the village limits due to new house developments. Los Lunas is part of the Alburquerque Metropolitan Area. The name Los Lunas is a partial Anglicisation of the name of the Luna family, who originally settled in the area. The original land grant was made to Don Adrian Luna Candelaria in 1716, but within two years it was given to the Luna family. Some Civil War battles were fought near Los Lunas. Although it is small, Los Lunas has many local attractions, venues and restaurants where you can spend your free time. It is an ideal holiday destination for short breaks or weekend getaways.
