Mount Airy is a small, yet charming city in the state of North Carolina, with a total population of 10.388 residents, according to the 2010 census. Mount Airy was settled in the 1750s as a stagecoach stop on the road between Winston-Salem and Galax, Virginia. It was named after a nearby plantation. Mount Airy was incorporated in 1885.
