New Braunfels is a beautiful city located in Texas, United States. Part of both Comal and Guadalupe Counties, New Braunfels is one of the most important cities of the area, actually being the county seat of Comal County. New Braunfels was founded in 1845 and the name of the city comes from German, meaning "brown rock". Over an area of 29.4 square miles (76.1 square kilometers), New Braunfels has a population of more than 57,700 residents. New Braunfels is now a place with a rich cultural life, a great historical heritage and a scenic beauty, being a perfect tourist destination.
The Circle Arts Theater is a great cultural venue to visit when being in New Braunfels. Numerous events and stage performances are held within this spot all year long. The other lovely theater of the city is Brauntex Performing Arts Theater, hosting cultural and performing art events.
Sophie Museum and Archives is the spot to be in to learn all there is to know about the history of the area. Here you will find some fascinating historical exhibits, local artifacts, but also photographs, images and maps, as well as documents and actually the entire cultural heritage of New Braunfels. Anyway, you should not imagine that this is the only great museum you can visit when being in New Braunfels. McKenna Children's Museum, Alamo Classic Car Museum and Museum of Texas Handmade Furniture are other places that should be included into your itinerary when visiting the city.
New Braunfels Museum of Art and Music aims to preserve the musical heritage of the whole state of Texas. Various art and music collections are preserved and exhibited by this venue. Art collections can also be seen at the New Braunfels Art League Gallery and the Art and Sculpture Gallery.
Landa Park is a lovely place for children, but not only. Here you will find a great park for the entire family. Walking trails, a lovely golf course, picnic facilities, ancient oak trees, scenic views over the Comal River, unique species of flora and fauna and playground areas, are just some of the things you will can enjoy in this great New Braunfels park.
