Newport is a wonderful city located in Kentucky, United States. Situated at the confluence of Ohio and Licking rivers, Newport is the county seat of Campbell County and also one of the most important cities in the area. Newport has a surface of 3.0 square miles (7.7 square kilometers) and a population of over 15,200 inhabitants, as the 2010 census indicated. East Row Historical District is the best place to visit if you are interested in the history of the area. The houses and historic homes here are really fascinating and they are surely worth to be seen. However, you should not imagine that in this place you will be able to see only a few impressive buildings. In fact this is the largest historical district in the sate, including more than 1100 homes dating back to the 1870s. Most of the homes here were constructed between 1870 and 1920.
