Niles is a lovely city located in two counties from Michigan - Berrien and Cass, United States of America. Niles is situated near South Bend, Indiana and lies on the banks of St. Joseph River. In present, Niles has a population of more than 11.000 residents and an area of almost 6 square miles. The name of the town comes from Hezekiah Niles, an editor of the Niles Register, a newspaper based in Baltimore. When Niles was settled, in 1827, Hezekiah Niles helped a lot of slaves to escape from New Orleans to search for a better life in Canada. Notable residents include John Francis Dodge and Horace Elgin Dodge - pioneers of the automobile industry and Metallica member Jason Newsted.
