Oceanside is a census designated place located in Hempstead, Nassau County, New York, United States of America. The population of Oceanside reached recently 32.000 residents. Oceanside has an area of 5.4 square miles. The city was established by the English government in 1674 as a township and it was called South Bay. The name of Oceanside was given to the city, officially, only in 1918 and so it is used today. The first school in the city was built in the late 1930s and it was a one room school.
