The name of Rosenberg comes after Henry von Rosenberg, an immigrant who came to the united States in 1843 and became the first president of the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe Railroad. Currently, there are 31,676 residents inhabiting Rosenberg, according to the 2010 census, making it part of the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown Metropolitan Area. The Bud O'Shieles Community Center is the main entertainment facility in Rosenberg, operated by Fort Bend County. This large complex spans on two acres and features an auditorium and numerous meeting centers. Most of the events in Rosenberg are being held here.

The Railroad Festival is being held here every year, in the first Saturday of March.
