Mabee - Gerrer Museum of Art, also known as MGMoA is located within the area of Shawnee. The facility has a collection of more than 3500 works of art and spans over a period of more than 6000. The art is related to cultures from all around the world and one of the main exhibits is a mummy, the only one existing in the area of Oklahoma. The museum opened in 1919 and is located in the same building of Shawnee since 1979. It also has a small eatery and a gift shop selling books and publications art-related and educational toys.
Red Bud Park is a beautiful park of Shawnee. It was built in the 1920s and is the home of many old trees, a lot of playgrounds and tot lots. The park also has picnic areas and walking paths for those who love to exercise in the open air.
