Thibodaux is a small city located in Louisiana, along the banks of Bayou Lafourche, with a total population of 14.431 residents, according to the 2000 census. Thibodaux was settled in the 18th century and in was incorporated as a town in 1838 under the name Thibodauxville, in honour of the local plantation owner, Henry Schuyler Thibodaux, who provided land for the village and served as acting governor.
